HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Middle Tennessee Softball (13-19, 3-9 CUSA) dropped an extra-inning pitcher's duel to Sam Houston (24-15, 9-3 CUSA) by a score of 2-1 in eight innings.

The Blue Raiders started off with some momentum in the box, Macie Harter knocking a base hit in the leadoff spot and Jana Want walking to put two runners on in the top of the first. The two runners were left stranded, but Braelyn Hall stepped into the circle in the bottom of the first and began her stretch of dominance. Hall let up two hits, both runners making it to scoring position before she would send down two straight batters swinging to get out of the jam. The freshman right-hander racked up three more strikeouts in the following two innings.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth, where Sam Houston plated a run off of a Middle Tennessee error. The Blue Raiders tied it up in the sixth, Harter doubling and Ansley Blevins bringing her to the plate with an RBI single. The game remained tied through seven full innings, the game pushed into an eighth where the Bearkats would inevitably walk it off in the bottom of the frame.

By the Numbers

0: The Middle Tennessee pitching staff did not allow a single home run this weekend, the first time all season that this has been the case.
3: Braelyn Hall pitched her third complete game of the season today against the Bearkats, and her second of the weekend.
5: Macie Harter recorded her fifth multi-hit game of the season against Sam Houston, her second of the weekend.
