Blue Raiders down Tigers in midweek contest

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball (16-24) defeated Tennessee State (1-30) by a score of 7-3 at the Blue Raider Softball Field tonight.
The Blue Raiders started off slow in the box, putting up their first run in the bottom of the third with a sacrifice fly off the bat of Macie Harter. The Middle Tennessee offense exploded in the bottom of the fourth, when three Blue Raider runs crossed the plate in the shape of a two-RBI single from Aubrey Baker and an additional RBI from Mady Pint to take the first Blue Raider lead.
Three more runs scored for the Blue Raiders in the bottom of the fifth. Jana Want drove in one run on a single, and Ansley Blevins shot off her ninth home run of the season for two RBI of her own.
Elle Hildreth got the start in the circle for the Blue Raiders, striking out one in 2.0 innings of work before Braelyn Hall entered the game in relief. Hall tossed 5.0 innings, recording the win and striking out a tied career high seven batters.
By the Numbers
- 1: Aubrey Baker recorded her first multi-RBI game with her two-RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning.
- 6: The Blue Raiders stole six bases against the Tigers, marking the first time that a Middle Tennessee team has stolen five or more bases in a single game since the 2024 season.
- 8: Elle Hildreth and Braelyn Hall combined for a Middle Tennessee season high eight strikeouts.
