Blue Raiders drop series opener to New Mexico State

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball (16-25, 4-15 CUSA) fell to New Mexico State (22-20, 12-7 CUSA) by a score of 4-0 to open the Conference USA series.
Braelyn Hall got the start in the circle for the Blue Raiders, pitching a complete seven inning game and recording the loss. Hall got off to a slow start, walking three in the top of the first inning, allowing three hits and three runs to cross the plate, but after that it was all gas from the freshman right-hander. Hall allowed just three more hits in her next six innings of work, striking out a career-high eight batters across all seven innings.
The Blue Raiders knocked two hits as a team off the bats of Macie Harter and Ansley Blevins. Middle Tennessee left five runners stranded on the base path.
