Blue Raiders drop series to Aggies in tightly contested pitcher's duel

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball (17-26, 5-16 CUSA) fell to New Mexico State (23-21, 13-8 CUSA) in a competitive pitcher's duel by a score of 1-0.
Braelyn Hall got the start in the circle and had a dominant day for the Blue Raiders. Hall allowed just one run on three hits, striking out seven and tossed a complete seven inning game for Middle Tennessee. The freshman right-hander had the makings of a perfect game, retiring nine straight batters before the Aggies sent the only run of the game to the plate in the top of the fourth. After the solo shot that would eventually win the game, Hall allowed just two more hits through the next three innings. The three Aggie hits were the only three base runners for New Mexico State, Hall not allowing a walk through her seven innings of work.
Offensively, Middle Tennessee recorded two hits off the bats of Jana Want and Elle Hildreth, Hildreth's hit for extra bases. The Blue Raiders left four base runners stranded, Macie Harter and Want both reaching base on walks.
