Blue Raiders host Memphis for doubleheader

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball is set to close out its homestand with a doubleheader against Memphis on Wednesday, April 22. Game one of the doubleheader is slated to start at 2:00 p.m. CT, with game two to begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
Blue Raider Notes
- Braelyn Hall had a dominant weekend in the circle for Middle Tennessee. The freshman right-hander struck out a total of 15 batters, giving up just nine hits to record a 2.00 ERA in her 14.0 innings pitched against New Mexico State. Hall is now third in Conference USA in strikeouts with 105 on the season, and fifth in CUSA in strikeouts looking with 25.
- Game two against New Mexico State is when the Middle Tennessee bats got hot. Three Blue Raiders had multi-hit games, and seven of the ten Middle Tennessee hits were for extra bases.
- In the Blue Raider's last midweek game against Tennessee State, Middle Tennessee stole six bases against the Tigers. The six stolen bags were the most by the Blue Raiders in a single game since the 2024 season. Macie Harter leads Middle Tennessee in stolen bases with 19, that figure third in Conference USA.
Tiger Notes
- Memphis enters the midweek with a 17-31 overall record under the leadership of Trena Prater in her second season.
- Faith Brown and Ariel Davis lead the Tigers offensively; Brown holds a team high .368 batting average and 33 RBI, and Davis leads Memphis in hits (48) and runs (30).
- Avery Stutts is the best in the circle for the Tigers, leading Memphis with a team high 45 strikeouts across 94.2 innings of work.
Series History
The series between Middle Tennessee and Memphis is 8-4 all-time in favor of the Tigers. The last time the two teams clashed was last season, where Middle Tennessee won on the road by a score of 8-7. The Blue Raiders have yet to beat the Tigers at home.
