Queener Leads Blue Raiders as Middle Tennessee Sits Eighth After Day One at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee opened play at the Mason Rudolph Championship with a 5-over-par 289 on Friday and sits in eighth place after the first round at Vanderbilt Legends Club.
The Blue Raiders are in a tightly packed leaderboard, just six shots back of fourth place. Auburn leads the field at 10-under-par, followed by Tennessee (-4) and Vanderbilt (-2). Sophomore Owen Queener paced Middle Tennessee with a 1-under-par 70 and is tied for 14th individually.
Carter Maneth carded an even-par 71 and is tied for 22nd, while Maddox Crowder and Connor Henry each posted 3-over-par 74s to sit tied for 48th. Oliver Baker rounded out the lineup with a 4-over-par 75 and is tied for 56th.
The Mason Rudolph Championship continues Saturday with the second round, followed by the final round on Sunday. The Blue Raiders will begin teeing off at 8 a.m. on hole No. 1 and will be paired with UNC Charlotte and Ole Miss.

"Owen gave us a really solid round to lead the way today," said head coach Mark McEntire. "I thought we did some good things as a team, but we left a few shots out there. We're in a solid spot and looking forward to tomorrow."
