Blue Raiders head to Austin Peay for midweek matchup

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball is on the road for a midweek matchup against Austin Peay. The Blue Raiders will take on the Governors at Cathi Maynard Park on Tuesday, April 7 at 4:00 p.m. CT.
Blue Raider Notes
Middle Tennessee enters the midweek hot off a thrilling game three win over LA Tech on Saturday, April 4. The Blue Raiders broke the Middle Tennessee single-game home run record with five, and Jana Want and Ansley Blevins each tied the single-game home run record for a player with two apiece.
Two Blue Raiders batted over .500 across the three-game series, Want hitting .556 and Onnika Spencer hitting .500, the two combined for 10 hits, three home runs and six RBI.
Ansley Blevins had a standout weekend at the plate as well, hitting .400, slugging 1.300 and blasting three home runs across the three-game series.
Macie Harter and Avery Wynne also both hit over .300 on the weekend, the two combining for four doubles and six runs, Harter responsible for three RBI during the series against the Bulldogs.
Governor Notes
Austin Peay enters the midweek after earning its first series sweep of Atlantic Sun Conference play. The Governors are 24-15 overall under the leadership of Kassie Stanfill in her eighth season.
Seven Governors combined to bat .500 or better during their series last weekend, Kiley Hinton leading the way with a .667 average and five runs scored, while Sammie Shelander brought the power with five hits, two doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and a 1.444 slugging percentage.
Cameron Grayson dominated in the circle for Austin Peay, posting a 0.00 ERA across two appearances, recording two wins and not allowing a single extra-base hit.
Series History
The series between Middle Tennessee and Austin Peay is 37-19 in favor of the Blue Raiders. The last time the two teams clashed was in February of last season, where the Governors topped the Blue Raiders by one run in Clarksville.
