Blue Raiders top Governors in explosive offensive performance

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball (15-21) took down Austin Peay (24-16) on the road in an explosive offensive performance by a score of 11-5.
The Blue Raiders struck early with an RBI double from Jana Want and a three-run home run from Lexi Medlock to put Middle Tennessee out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first. The Governors answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first and the bottom of the third to tie the game back up. The tie ball game didn't last long; Middle Tennesseescored three more runs in the top of the fourth.
The Blue Raider defense hung three more zeros before the offense had another four-run inning in the top of the sixth. Middle Tennessee scored two of the four runs on Governor errors, the other two coming off the bat of Ansley Blevins from a two-run home run.
Halle Klaiber got the start in the circle for the Blue Raiders, pitching two innings and striking out two before Braelyn Hall entered the game in relief. Hall tossed 4.0 innings and recorded the win, striking out four batters. Tori Coffman closed out the game for the Blue Raiders, striking out one in a full inning of relief.
