NEWARK, Del. – Middle Tennessee is on the road to Newark to take on the Delaware Blue Hens in another regular season Conference USA series. The first of three games is slated to start at 4:00 p.m. CT on Friday, April 10 at the Delaware Softball Diamond.

Blue Raider Notes

The Blue Raiders enter the weekend on a two game win streak, most recently taking down Austin Peay in Clarksville on Tuesday, April 7, where 10 of 12 Middle Tennessee batters knocked a base hit against the Governors, the team totaling a season high 14 hits and .400 batting average in seven innings at the plate.
The Blue Raider bats have been hot so far in the month of April, the team hitting .339 and slugging .654 across the first four games of the month.
In Middle Tennessee's thrilling game-three win over LA Tech, the Blue Raiders broke the single-game home run record with five, including a long ball from Lexi Medlock and two-homer performances from both Ansley Blevins and Jana Want. Eight of the 11 Middle Tennessee hits during the game-three win were for extra bases.
Four Blue Raiders have combined for six multi-hit performances across the last two Middle Tennessee wins.

Blue Hen Notes

Delaware enters the weekend on a four-game win streak after sweeping UTEP and defeating Villanova in the midweek. The Blue Hens are 20-19 overall with an 8-7 record in Conference USA play under the leadership of Jen Steele in her eighth season.
Sydney Shaffer brings power to the plate for the Blue Hens, hitting six home runs over Delaware's last 11 games. Across that stretch she slashed .321/.537/1.000 and drove in 14 runs.
Josie Crossman leads Delaware in the circle with a team high 101.2 innings pitched and 82 strikeouts, holding a 3.58 ERA on the season.

Series History

The series between Middle Tennessee and Delaware is 2-0 all-time in favor of the Blue Hens. The last time both teams clashed was in 2024, where Delaware won both neutral site matchups.
