Men’s Tennis set to open fall slate with Rocky Top Invite

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After winning its seventh-straight CUSA title in April, the Middle Tennessee men's tennis team will begin its fall schedule with the Rocky Top Invite in Knoxville, Tenn. between Sept. 18-20.
Hosted by the University of Tennessee, the Blue Raiders will join Indiana, Memphis and Louisville at the Goodfriend Tennis Center, in what will be the first time the Vols have hosted a fall invite since the Knoxville Showdown in September of 2022.
The Blue and White will return to Knoxville after contesting the 2025 NCAA Regional there, falling to Duke 4-0.
MTSU faced off against all four opponents in the 2025-26 season, most recently facing then-No. 68 Memphis, dropping the contest 3-4 on April 10 in Murfreesboro.
Just before Valentine's Day, the Blue Raiders claimed victory against Louisville on Feb. 13, 4-2 at the Adams Tennis Complex.
Middle Tennessee and Indiana met twice last season, once on Oct. 3, 2025 in the MT Shootout and most recently on Feb. 1, with the Hoosiers claiming a 4-1 victory in Bloomington.
The day after MTSU and IU's fall bout, the Blue Raiders met the Rocky Top Invite hosts in the MT Shootout on Oct. 4, 2025.
The new-look 2026 Middle Tennessee roster includes five new players, including four internationals. freshmen Alexandre Vassard and graduate Clément Mayoral hail from France, the latter being the brother of current Blue Raider Antoine Mayoral. The Blue and White welcome two transfers in senior Aryan Saleh from Old Dominion and junior Asier Ayllon Prado from UIndy. Freshman John Popowich rounds out MTSU's incoming class, joining the squad from Sandy Hook, Conn.
The Blue Raiders retain senior Birtan Duran, junior Eric Crivei, and sophomores Mayoral, Houston Jacques, Rich LaLance and Santiago Lora.
