Rashaad Richardson joined Nick McDevitt’s staff at Middle Tennessee in 2022. Richardson spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant at Tulane University under his former coach from Georgia State, Ron Hunter.
While at Tulane, Richardson closely collaborated with Hunter, assistant coaches Ray McCallum, Claude Pardue, and Kevin Johnson and director of player development Sean Mock to ensure player performance and growth. He was in charge of all video responsibilities using Hudl-Sportscode. Richardson also assisted with day-to-day office operations including travel and player equipment, led eight undergraduate managers and assisted with scouting reports to reinforce the basketball vision and plans of Coach Hunter in practice and through video.
Prior to Tulane, Richardson spent a year at Clarendon College as an assistant coach under head coach Isaac Amedee. During his one year at Clarendon College, the team finished 31-3 and won the regular season title and the conference tournament for Region 5. They were a #2 seed on their way to Hutchinson, KS but were unable to compete due to the pandemic. Before leaving Clarendon College, Richardson was able to help six players sign Division 1 scholarships.
Prior to Clarendon College, Richardson was an assistant coach at Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Ga., for three years. While at Stephenson, Richardson assisted head coach Dewayne McKinney and assistant coach Bryant Murry with day-to-day operations. Two out of his three years they were able to win two region titles.
Richardson played for Ron Hunter at Georgia State, helping the Panthers to 74 wins and a pair of postseason tournament appearances. Richardson's 117 games played ranked in the top 10 in GSU history at the end of his playing career. In his final two seasons, he was named a team captain.
The Charleston, SC native played his first three years of high school basketball at James Island High. His senior year of high school he played for Oldsmar Christian School in Tampa, Fla., for head coach Ryan Pannone.
Rashaad and his wife Brittany Richardson are excited about being in Murfreesboro and ready to help the Blue Raider program.
