Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season Saturday

MURFREESBORO, TN - Middle Tennessee volleyball's (9-20, 4-9 SBC) final home and Sun Belt Conference game is with Florida International (18-6, 9-4 SBC) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Murphy Center a team the Lady Raiders opened the Sun Belt Conference season with in Miami on September 22.
The Lady Raider's earlier match with the Lady Panthers was the first five game match of the season for MT, but the Lady Raiders lost 2-3. Sophomore Karisse Baker had a big night as she recorded 13 kills and three block assists against the Lady Panthers. Middle Tennessee will try to end the season by knocking off FIU and stop the Lady Panther's Nirvana Koss who is now the career leader in kills for FIU.
Several Lady Raiders are trying to crack into the record books on Saturday. Junior Katie Thiesen needs just three kills; she has 915, to move into fifth place in career kills. Erin Hillstrom needs just 25 digs to move into fifth place all time in career digs and 32 for fourth place. Sophomore Goldie Bilyeu is 38 assists away from fifth place in career assists. Freshman Shakeithia Deckard is 16 kills from fourth place for kills in a season and 25 kills from third place.
