Lady Raiders Have Season High 15 Hits in Consolation Bracket Win

SACARAMENTO, Calif. -Middle Tennessee softball (12-13) had a season high 15 hits in the Lady Raiders 9-0 win over IUPUI in the consolation bracket of the Capitol Classic on Saturday.
Freshman Danni DeCamino hit her second homerun in as many days to help lead the Lady Raiders to the win over IUPU. Centerfielder Kip Phillips went 4-for-4 with one RBI and senior second baseman Lisa Sherman went 2-for-4 with five RBI.
Senior Amanda Kendall picked up her first win of the season (1-2) on the mound. She threw five scoreless innings and had six strikeouts.
Middle Tennessee fell into the consolation bracket with a 3-0 loss to Kansas earlier in the day. Junior hurler Stayc Preator falls to 1-6 on the season. Middle Tennessee only had three hits in the game.
The Lady Raiders will face Virginia at 9 a.m. pt in the semi-finals of the consolation bracket on Sunday.
