BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Middle Tennessee will be looking to extend the seventh-longest win streak in program history when it faces rival WKU in a SBC East Division showdown tonight at Diddle Arena. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
The Blue Raiders' current seven-game winning streak is the longest since 1990-91 and 5-0 conference mark equals the best league start since 1988-89. In fact, it is the best start in conference play since 1986-87 when the Blue Raiders started 6-0 in the OVC.
Middle Tennessee (11-5, 5-0) owns a one-game lead over WKU (10-6, 4-1) in the SBC's East Division and the Blue Raiders are the only remaining unbeaten team in SBC action. Desmond "Boogie" Yates leads the team with 18.3 points per game, while Demetrius Green (18.3) and Kevin Kanaskie (11.3) also average double figures. Point guard Nigel Johnson is coming off a 15-point performance against FIU in which he led the team in scoring for the first time of his career.
Blue Raider fans that can't make the trek to Bowling Green, Ky., can still catch the game on television through two outlets. The game will be broadcast live on the Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network, and distributed nationally through Fox College Sports Atlantic. Locally on Comcast On-Demand Digital Cable, the network can be found on channel 262. The game is also available on the DirecTV Sports Pack.
