MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - After two rounds of play at the 2010 UALR Women's Golf Classic, the Middle Tennessee women's golf team held the lead, but ultimately finished third in the 18-team field. On Monday, the Blue Raiders will tee off at the 2011 edition of the event at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark.
"We played pretty well here last year," head coach Chris Adams said. "I expect to do well again this time around and get our confidence up a bit going into this final stretch of the season. We just need to put together three solid rounds."
Monday will mark the fifth consecutive year that Middle Tennessee has taken a trip to Diamante, and the fourth straight as a part of the UALR Women's Golf Classic.
Olivia Love will look to lead the Blue Raiders in the event after posting the team's top finish last week at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate. The sophomore tied for 16th in the 78-player field.
Morgan Hale is the top returning finisher for MT at the 2010 UALR Women's Golf Classic. Hale carded an opening round two-under 70 en route to ultimately tying for 19th.
Karisa Akin carries the team's best stroke average this spring, taking 76.1 shots per round. Steph Gough and Stephanie Smith will round out the line-up for the team, and Natalie Chrispulos will compete in the event as an individual.
Live scoring will not be available at Golfstat.com.
