Blue Raiders Set for Final Non-Conference Match

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee volleyball team (6-11, 2-2 C-USA) will take a break from conference play with a road matchup against East Tennessee State on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Weekend Recap
The Blue Raiders finished 1-1 last weekend with a three set defeat to UTSA on Friday and a 3-2 victory over Louisiana Tech on Sunday. Junior Chelsea Ross finished with 49 kills to lead MT, including a career-high 33 kills against La Tech. Freshman Haley Morton also set a career-high with 33 assists to go along with 11 digs for her third double-double of the season.
Starting well early
In four of MT's six victories, the Blue Raiders have won the first set while winning the first stanza in eight of the 17 games overall.
Staying in state

Senior Ailime de Freitas and Morton have played well for MT as the two combined for 63 of the team's 67 assists yesterday in the win over La Tech. The teammates each set career-highs in assists with De Freitas tallying 30 helpers. Over the previous four matches, the native from Brazil has had her best stretch of the season averaging 23 assists. Morton has reached at least 20 assists in the five contests.

East Tennessee State is on a season-high three-match win streak after defeating North Carolina Greensboro in four sets at home. The Bucs are 2-1 on their home floor this season with their lone loss coming against Furman.
