Blue Raiders Play Host to North Texas Saturday
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee will look to remain atop the C-USA standings when it plays host to North Texas in its annual Play 4Kay "Pink Game" Saturday at 4 p.m.
The Blue Raiders (16-6, 10-2) are one-half game ahead of WKU in the tight conference race that also has Southern Miss just one game off of the pace with six league games remaining. Middle Tennessee plays four of its final six at Murphy Center.
North Texas (3-19, 2-9) has endured a tough season; however, several of the Mean Green's conference losses have been single-digit defeats.
"They have played a lot of teams tough and they are fighting to get into the conference tournament where anything can happen," Middle Tennessee Head Coach Rick Insell said. "We will have to come ready to play and we need to find a way to put a complete game together. We have not done that in a while."
Middle Tennessee's players will be wearing pink uniforms for Saturday's game. The uniforms will be auctioned following the game. All proceeds benefit the Play 4Kay Foundation.
Middle Tennessee's Olivia Jones (20.1) and Cheyenne Parker (19.6) are the second highest scoring duo in Division I WBB and they are first and second, respectively, in the C-USA scoring race. Parker leads the league in rebounding and blocks shots and is second in field goal percentage.
