MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee softball team (9-8, 0-3 C-USA) will have a quick turnaround with a 1 p.m. midweek contest at New Mexico State (18-7) in Las Cruces, N.M.

About the Blue Raiders
Last Time Out
The Blue Raiders were swept by UTEP in the weekend series to open Conference USA action. Freshman Cor'Nisha Birdsong led MT with a .500 hitting clip and four hits while senior Samantha Nieves also finished with four hits. The Miners hit six homers in three games, including three alone in the series finale on Sunday.

The duo of Birdsong and junior Carlie Jenkins has played a pivotal role in MT's nine wins. Jenkins and Birdsong are hitting a combined .465, while accounting for 38 of the team's 86 total RBI's (44 percent). The tandem is one of two duos in the top-10 in Conference USA in batting average (UAB).
