MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team looks to extend their early success this season as they travel to Asheville, N.C. on Sunday, November 26. The game against the Bulldogs is set for a 1p.m. tip-off in the Kimmel Arena.
Scouting the Opponent: UNC Asheville Bulldogs
The Asheville team enters their 2017-18 season with back-to-back Big South Championship titles, marking their third overall championship victory. The Bulldogs enter Sunday's contest with a 0-4 record after scheduling a daunting pre-season slate.
Last time out, the Bulldogs fell to Davidson 50-58. The team's offense was paced by senior guard Khaila Webb (12 points) while Bronaza Fitzgerald led the team in rebounding (7).
Lady Raiders Advance to 3-0 for First Time in 19 Years
The Lady Raider senior class led the squad to their third-straight victory over the Lipscomb Bison on Sunday, November 19. The last time the team opened their season with three straight wins dates back to 1998. Senior Rebecca Reuter notched 16 points and added five rebounds while senior Abbey Sissom and senior Gabby Lyon posted for a combined 22 points.
Freshman Jadona Davis made her Middle Tennessee debut over the Bison tallying eight points and two blocks in 12 minutes of play.
On the Road
The team continues on the road to Oxford, Miss. and Atlanta, Ga. to compete against Ole Miss on Wednesday, Nov. 29 and Georgia Tech on Sunday, Dec. 3.
