MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team (4-2) fell to ACC foe, Georgia Tech on Sunday, Dec. 3. After a hard fought battle in the McCamish Pavilion, the Lady Raiders dropped the contest against the Ramblin' Wreck, 48-45.
Scouting Coppin State
Coppin State opened its season with a 100-54 setback against Baylor on Nov. 12. The squad recorded their first win of the season over Mount St. Mary's 68-54 in the Physical Education Complex Arena in Baltimore, Md. Since recording their first win, the Eagles lost five-straight contests including losses from two Conference USA opponents Old Dominion and Charlotte. Coppin State inks a 7-1 overall record.
Redshirt-senior Genesis Lucas is the Coppin State offensive player to watch. The 5-foot-7 guard averages 18 points per game while tallying 37 assists and 20 steals in the teams eight games this season. Similarly, sophomore Chance Graham notched 105 points to ink the second-best field goal percentage on the team with 42-of-90 baskets made (.467).
On the defensive end, (Graham) shows her ability on the glass posting 69 rebounds this season to average 8.6 rebounds per game.
Tuesday's matchup marks the first meeting in history between the Eagles and the Lady Raiders.
Lady Raiders drop WNIT rematch to the Ramblin' Wreck, 45-48
The Lady Raiders move to a 4-2 record after falling to Georgia Tech on Dec. 3 in the McCamish Pavilion. Junior Jess Louro paced the Lady Raider offense with 15 points shooting 4-of-10 from the field. Louro also remained active on defense inking five steals and career-high nine rebounds over the Yellow Jackets.
Likewise, junior Alex Johnson notched 13 points in a season-high 22 minutes of play. The Murfreesboro, Tenn. native was 4-of-5 from the charity stripe and 1-of-1 from distance during Sunday's contest.
Senior Gabby Lyon (6) and freshman Anna Jones (6) remained active on the glass for the Lady Raiders posting a combined 12 rebounds.

The Lady Raiders travel to Louisville, Ky. to compete against the undefeated Cardinals (8-0) on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 6p.m. As of Nov. 27, the Cardinals are ranked fourth among Division I competitors behind UConn, Texas, and Notre Dame.
After a weekend on the road, the team will return to the Murphy Center on Thursday, Dec. 14 to host the Troy Trojans at 6:30p.m.
