MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After eight wins in Tennessee's Rust Buster last weekend, Middle Tennessee seeks to keep the early outdoor season momentum rolling as it travels Cape Girardeau, Mo., for the Drury Hotels Joey Haines Invitational hosted by Southeast Missouri.

Action from Abe Stuber Track & Field Complex gets under way Friday at 3:30 p.m. with the hammer throw and 10,000-meter run. Field events will resume Saturday morning at 11 a.m., before the running events cap the weekend Saturday beginning at 12 p.m.

Five Blue Raiders enter the weekend ranked in the top 20 nationally.

Reigning C-USA Co-Female Track Athlete of the Week Abike Egbeniyi leads the charge in the 800-meter run and owns the second best mark in the country at 2:07.18. In sprints, Janet Amponsah ranks No. 16 and No. 13 in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, respectfully.

In the field, Elizabeth Dadzie claims the eighth best mark in the long jump, while on the men's side, Jacob Patten ranks No. 14 in the country in the high jump.

The Blue Raiders' women's 4x400-meter relay team also holds the third best time in the country after it broke the school record last weekend with a time of 3:36.75.

Eleven other schools will join the Blue Raiders at the invitational, including in-state foes Lipscomb, Memphis and Tennessee-Martin.
