Blue Raiders cap weekend with five more wins

MT sets five school records throughout weekend
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee claimed five wins Saturday, including 20 top 10 finishes to cap a successful weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays and the APSU Invitational.
Adeniji Adedamola enjoyed a stellar day on the track in Clarksville, as he claimed gold in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 48.07. Charles Okeze finished second in the event, clocking 48.70.
MT's men's 4x100 relay squad took first with a time of 41.55. Adedamola led off the relay team, while Okeze anchored the final leg.
The Blue Raider 4x400 relay squad of Nathan Mack, Trevon Sanders, Donald Clay and Ifiok Umoh also finished out in front, clocking a 3:23.86.
In the field, Jacob Patten grabbed first place in the men's high jump with a leap of 6-09.75.
Rachel Kigen led the way on the women's side. The sophomore ran the women's 3000-meter steeplechase in 11:01.09 to claim first. Kigen also finished in second place in the women's 1500-meter run with a time of 4:34.26.
Taylor Day and Loveth Odia finished second and third in the women's 200-meter dash with times of 24.33 and 24.37, respectively.
To wrap the Mt. SAC Relays, Eliud Rutto finished as the top collegian in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:45.70. His time currently ranks No. 2 in the country. Sampson Laari took ninth in the event with a time of 1:47.52.
The Blue Raiders resume the outdoor season next weekend at the Auburn Invitational.
