MT Falls in Overtime to Old Dominion

MURFREESBORO, TN – Middle Tennessee (7-3-1, 2-1-1) played host to Old Dominion (5-6-2, 2-3-0) on Friday night in a mid-season conference match up. The first half was dominated by solid defensive play from both teams as the half would finish in a 0-0 deadlock. The second half would be much of the same with both teams going back and forth with the ball, but being unable to find the back of the net. 90 minutes would not be enough for the game as it would continue into overtime. Old Dominion would battle its way to a victory in overtime after a finishing off a rebounded shot to end the game.
Match Moments
3' – SAVE (MT) – Celeste Barnard makes a nice diving save on a shot from
outside the box.
13- CHANCE (MT) – Hannah Tillett intercepts a nice pass from Old Dominion
and has a shot from outside the box but sees it sail over the crossbar.
25' – CHANCE (MT) – Peyton DePriest beats two defenders and found herself
with a shot on goal, however it was saved by the Monarch keeper.
33' – CHANCE (ODU) – Old Dominion found themselves on a breakaway chance,
however Blue Raider defender Sydney Navarro swept in to clear the danger.
55' – CHANCE (ODU) – The Monarchs found themselves with a loose ball in the
box, however the shot fires off the right post and away from danger.
58' – CHANCE (MT) – Amber Hoot sends in a nice corner kick to the top of the
six-yard box. The Blue Raiders tried to put a head on it but were unable to convert.
63' – CHANCE (MT) – DePriest received a through ball behind the Monarch
defense put couldn't finish the shot.
71' – CHANCE (MT) - Carolin Engelhard fires off a rocket from outside the box
but can't quite beat the Monarch keeper.
96' – SAVE (MT) – Barnard faced a hard-ripped shot from just inside the box, but
managed to collect the shot with a diving stop.
99' – GOAL (ODU) – Amanda Nhek finds the back of the net off of a rebound
shot to end the game in overtime.
