Raiders to compete in East Bay Deli Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Middle Tennessee men's golf finishes out its fall schedule this week as the Blue Raiders compete in the East Bay Deli Classic at the Par 72, 6,911-yard Turtle Point Golf Course Sunday-Tuesday.
The tournament, hosted in Kiawah Island by Charleston Southern, boasts 21 teams including Conference USA foe Florida Atlantic and in-state rivals Memphis and Tennessee Tech.
Also in the field are Appalachian State, Augusta, College of Charleston, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Hampton, High Point, Jacksonville State, Loyola Maryland, Presbyterian, Radford, Troy, USC Upstate, Western Carolina, William & Mary and Winthrop.
"This is a great course for our team, " Head Coach Mark McEntire said. "We have only playe two tournaments but Iwas very happy with the improvements we made in Louisiana. Our goal is to have that continue this week at Kiawah and I am expecting us to play well."
All six Blue Raiders have made the trip to South Carolina with the lineup consisting of seniors James Beckner and Graham Gosselin, junior Tanner Owens and freshmen Jake Marvelli and Palmer Sadlowski. Freshman Josh Morris is also competing as an individual.
Middle Tennessee will play Sunday alongside Charleston Southern, Memphis and Francis Marion with Gosselin leading off on the 10th hole at 7:25 a.m. CT. He will be followed by Marvelli, Sadlowski, Owens and Beckner. Morris also tees off on the 10th hole at 6:55 a.m. CT.
