MT opens play at Augusta Invitational on Friday

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Following a tough finish their last time out, the Middle Tennessee women's golf team looks to bounce back in their first appearance in the 3M Augusta Invitational this weekend.
The Blue Raiders are one of 15 teams in the event hosted by Augusta and held at the Par 72, 6,248-yard Forest Hills Golf Club. Fellow Conference USA member Southern Miss also joins the field in Augusta as well as Central Arkansas, Columbia, Daytona State, Eastern Michigan, East Tennessee State, Georgia, James Madison, Memphis, Mercer, Purdue, Troy and Virginia Tech.
Junior Hanley Long led MT on the course in their first spring tournament, the Hurricane Invitational, at The Biltmore in Miami. The Clarksville native finished in 12th place in the field of 75 golfers at 3-over par (74-73-72=219).
Joining her in the Blue Raider lineup will be the usual cast of redshirt junior Jenna Burris, senior Cynthia Bounleutay, and freshmen Sophie Burks and Caroline Caudill.
Caudill will lead things off Friday with a 10:00 a.m. CT tee time off the first tee followed by Bounleutay, Burris, Burks and Long.
Freshman Savannah Quick will also be making the third appearance of her rookie campaign, teeing off as an individual at 10:32 a.m. CT on the 10th tee.
