MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee returns home as they look get back above .500 against Austin Peay Tuesday night, after being swept by No. 14 Southern Miss in Hattiesburg.
The Blue Raiders and the Governors met back on March 13th with MT taking the road victory, 9-0.
In that game, five Blue Raider hitters had multi-hit games. Junior Brett Stratinsky smashed his first-career home run in the 5th inning of that game.
Sophomore pitcher Grant Williams was also dominant in his start against the Governors. Williams tossed 6.0 innings giving up just three hits while striking out six.
For Austin Peay, they are led offensively by Garret Giovannelli. The senior is hitting .377 in 39 starts, leading his team in both doubles (18) and stolen bases (16).
Out of the bullpen, Brett Newberg leads the Governors in appearances (20). Newberg also boasts a team low ERA (3.44) as the teams closer.
