Raider Soccer Opens Preseason vs. Northern Kentucky

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – Opening up their 2018 slate, the Middle Tennessee women's soccer team faced Northern Kentucky in an exhibition game on Monday morning. The Raiders fell, 3-2, in the contest that consisted of three 30 minute periods.

Middle's two goals were scored by sophomore Elizabeth Watts and freshman Miya Lennon.

A penalty kick shootout, for extra practice, followed the regulation play. MT won 10-9.

Several newcomers saw their first action in a Blue Raider uniform in the contest as Head Coach Aston Rhoden looks to mix his 7 newcomers in with 19 returners.

"It was a good preseason game for us," said Rhoden. "We got to see everyone play for a bit and will use what we learned to continue our preparation for the season."

The Raiders conclude their preseason schedule when they head to Martin Methodist for an exhibition match on Friday, Aug. 10 at 5 p.m.

The regular season opens up as MT travels to play in-state rival Austin Peay on Friday, Aug. 17 at 7:00 p.m. The 2018 home opener is set for Sunday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. when the Raiders host Belmont.
