Weather delays MT's rise in a tie for sixth
Round Two Results
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – With a disappointing start to the Mason Rudolph Championship behind them the Blue Raider women's golf team got to work in a big way Saturday, climbing from 15th into a tie for sixth before play was postponed with approximately six holes remaining in the final round.
Senior Hanley Long has been a rock again for Middle Tennessee thus far, currently sitting at 3-under par for the championship and tied for eighth after a stellar round of 4-under 68 that featured seven birdies in round two.
Fellow senior Jenna Burris was unable to continue for the Blue Raiders following the conclusion of round two due to an ongoing injury, but her absence has led the remainder of the Blue Raider lineup to rise to the challenge as MT is currently 4-under in round three with only four players and have moved five spots up the leaderboard in the final round alone.
Sophomore Caroline Caudill is leading the charge in round three as she sits at 3-under par while Long is 1-under and sophomore Sophie Burks and freshman Catherine Caudill are each even par.
Round three is scheduled to continue at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning although weather could again come into play during the day.

"I'm very proud of the way we played today and our fight until the horn blew. We have the low round going in round three and we hope to get to finish tomorrow if we can dodge the storms in the area. Having to change the format to 36 today, we pretty much knew Jenna was going to have to stop after the first 18, and the team really stepped up. We have to come out tomorrow and continue to play hard knowing we may have to fight some rain." – Head Coach Chris Adams
"Yesterday was a learning experience for all of us. I don't think we all had our best golf games and I think that threw us all for a loop. We worked on the areas of our game after yesterday's round and I think it's showing today. The team stepped up last week when Jenna was injured and I think knowing Jenna isn't able to play this last round ignited a fire in all of us. If we can turn that switch on when Jenna is in the lineup and healthy, I think it's going to be a game changer. Overall, I'm proud of everyone's grit today and perseverance and I'm excited to see how tomorrow turns out." – Senior Hanley Long
