Raiders’ offense struggles in loss to FAU

MURFREESBORO, TENN – It was a rough afternoon for Middle Tennessee (6-9-1) who fell to conference opponent FAU (11-3-1) 3-1 in a feisty C-USA matchup. The Blue Raiders only goal of the match came late in the second half and was scored by Freshmen midfielder MacKenzie Bonham.
Florida Atlantic played extremely aggressive and was able to gain a goal advantage early on in the first half. They could have put up more than one goal in the first half if it were not for the heroics of Senior goalkeeper Sydney Chalcraft who made a couple of miraculous saves.
Despite being outshot 12 to 3 in the first half, the Blue Raiders had their fair share of chances in the second half and were able to put up 15 shots in total, which is just one less than FAU's 16 shots.
Peyton DePriest nearly scored a fantastic breakaway goal when she was able to get behind the Owl's back line and get one on one with their keeper, however her shot would slam against the left post and be cleared away by FAU's defense.
