Raiders earn come-from-behind victory over ETSU

Snapping a three-match skid
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's tennis took on ETSU Sunday at the Adams Tennis Complex, bringing down the Bucaneers, 4-3.
ETSU earned an early 1-0 lead over the Blue Raiders with doubles win on courts two and three.
The Bucs increased their lead, junior Zani Barnard fall to a 6-1, 6-0 straight-set against Bakhodirova. Freshman Muskan Gupta responded with a decisive victory over Elizarraras securing the Raiders first point.
Lee Baranrd battled on court 1, falling short to ETSU's Morales in two hard-fought sets, 6-4, 6-4 with the Bucs on the verge of clinching, leading 3-1.
This is where the comeback spurred. Freshman Noelle Mauro outlasted ETSU's Haan in a three set thriller, giving the Raiders hope. Quickly following Mauro's win, Lidia Burrows saved three match points to take the tight 6-0, 5-7, 7-6 victory.
With all eyes on court 4, Marta Peris Herrero split sets with Carvajal battling to clinch the match for the Raiders in the third set. Peris earned a dominant lead holding Carvajal to three points to clinch the match, with a 6-3 victory in the third set.
Advancing to 4-5, the Blue Raiders host two more matches next weekend at the Adams Tennis Complex.
