Raiders Ready To Take On Coastal Carolina

Conway, S.C. – After defeating Lipscomb on an extra inning walk-off, the Middle Tennessee baseball team travels to Conway, South Carolina to take on Coastal Carolina in a three game series. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. CST on Friday.

About the Blue Raiders
• Fausto Lopez is one of the Blue Raiders' hottest hitters and ranks in the top 10 in batting average (.391), hits (18), and stolen bases (5) in Conference USA. Teammate DJ Wright also ranks among the top of the conference in batting average (.385), slugging percentage (.590), and on-base percentage (.490).
• Aaron Brown spearheads the Blue Raider starting rotation with a 0.66 ERA. Brown has the fourth lowest ERA in the conference and is behind Mac McCarty of UAB with a 0.00 ERA.
Scouting The Chanticleers
• Coastal Carolina lost to No. 7 NC State on Wednesday, 24-7. Chanticleer pitchers allowed 21 hits and seven walks in the loss.
• Coastal is led offensively by Scott McKeon with a team high 16 hits and three home runs. Cooper Weiss is also a dangerous hitter in the Chanticleers lineup batting .393 and leads the team with 12 RBI.
• The Raiders are likely to see Scott McCambley on the mound for Coastal. McCambley boasts a 2-1 record to go along with a 1.50 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
All-Time vs. Coastal Carolina
• Game one on Friday will be the first ever meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Chanticleers.
Last Time Out
• The Blue Raiders defeated Lipscomb 7-6 in the tenth inning on a walk-off single from Fausto Lopez. Lopez finished the game 3-for-5 with three RBI.
• DJ Wright did it all for MT. Wright went 4-for-5 with a double and a home run and picked up the win on the mound in his first appearance for the Blue Raiders.
Next Time Out
• After the three game stint in Conway, the Blue Raiders will return home to play Memphis in a short two game series on March 10 and 11.
