Women’s golf in the top five at Ozarks National

Hollister, Mo. – Middle Tennessee women's golf wrapped up the first day of Missouri State's Ozarks National Invitational in fourth place Monday at 291 (+3). Caroline Caudill led the way for the Blue Raiders, birdieing her final hole of the day to finish in fifth place individually at 71 (-1).
Caudill started off hot, with four birdies and six pars on her first 10 holes. After scuffling late in the round, she finished strong with a birdie on hole three to drop back below par.
Molly Bebelaar tied for sixth individually at 72 (E), rebounding from an early double bogey to card four birdies and finish at even par.
Taylor Edlin and Sophie Burks ended the round tied for 18th at 74 (+2). Catherine Caudill ended play in a tie for 29th at 75 (+3).
Playing as an individual, Madison Smith finished tied for 18th at 74 (+2), kicking off the event with an eagle on the 18th hole, the first hole she played Monday.
The Blue Raiders' 166 pars were tied for the second-most of any team in the first round. Barnard leads the field with 39 pars, with Wolf close behind with 26.

"Caroline had a great round, and Molly hung tough out there," head coach Chris Adams said. "We just need to clean up some of the big numbers on this golf course so we can score better as a team tomorrow."

The second round begins with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.
