CLEMSON, S.C. – The Blue Raiders competed in both doubles and singles against VCU and Yale during the opening day of the Clemson Hidden Duals on Friday at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.

The Blue Raiders opened play on Friday, beginning with doubles against VCU and Yale. Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and Mattia Bernardi teamed up to take on C. Bertimon and M. Bertimon of VCU but fell 3-6 against the Rams' duo. John Chin and Stepan Holis competed against VCU's Torre Martin and Bobichon, dropping a hard-fought 4-6 decision. Olivier and Puscas of Clemson rounded out the duos for the Blue Raiders, taking on Reilly and Dean of Yale, but fell 1-6 to close out the doubles matches.

In singles, Oskar Brostrom Poulsen picked up the Blue Raiders first win of the day, cruising to an impressive 6-2, 6-4 win over M. Bertimon of VCU. Olivier and Holis both fell in three-set battles against VCU and Yale. Holis took the first set but fell behind in the second and dropped a close third set to fall, 6-3, 4-6, 6-7, against VCU's C. Bertimon. Olivier took the opening set but fell in the latter two sets against Yale's Dean, 6-4, 2-6, 0-6. Chin fell short in a two-set affair against Lefevre of Yale, 3-6, 4-6. Bernardi rounded out the day for the Blue Raiders, falling against Yale's Reilly, 1-6, 5-7.
