About the Blue Raiders
» MT was originally scheduled to play Austin Peay on Wednesday afternoon, but the game was postponed due to poor field conditions and inclement weather.
» Dodd finished the MTSU Invitational with a 0.00 ERA in 14.1 innings pitched to drop her season ERA to 0.92, the best mark in C-USA and No. 23 nationally among pitchers with at least 30.0 innings pitched.
» Amaya Harris (.333, 11 hits), Kelci Hill (.321, 18 hits) and Ryan King (.320, 8 hits) are the only three Blue Raiders with a batting average over .300.
» Junior catcher Hailey Bosley earned two starts in the MTSU Invitational and slugged her first career homer, a three-run blast, against North Dakota State on Saturday night.
» MT is currently first in C-USA and 34th nationally in stolen bases per game at 1.79. Freshman Jaya Herring leads in that department with eight bags swiped in nine attempts.
» Summer Burgess enters the weekend with 239 career hits, just five short of becoming the program's all-time hits leader. She's also two singles away from a new program record.
All-time vs. Western Illinois and Mercer
» MT won a 3-0 decision in the first and only previous meeting between the Blue Raiders and Western Illinois, which was played in 2010.
» Mercer owns a 6-1 advantage all-time against the Blue Raiders after last year's 10-6 win at The Spring Games.
» The last time the Bears played in Murfreesboro, it was 1993 and just the sixth game in MT's program history.
Scouting the Leathernecks and Bears
» Western Illinois enters the weekend in a slump after a 1-4 showing at the Saint Louis Tournament last weekend.
» Sophomore infielder Piper Foote leads the Leathernecks with a .415 batting average and 14 runs scored, and in the circle, Western Illinois boasts a solid three-pitcher rotation.
» Mercer is 2-1 this season against C-USA teams including two wins over UAB and a loss to Southern Miss.
» The Bears have one common opponent in Toledo. The Rockets won over Mercer in extra innings before falling by a score of 10-2 against the Blue Raiders.
» The Bears and Leathernecks will play a neutral site game against each other before MT's first game of the day on Saturday and Sunday. That game will be played at 11 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
