Blue Raiders continued play in the Dale Short Shootout Saturday against Louisville

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee men's tennis continued play in the Coach Dale Short Shootout on Saturday as they took on the Louisville Cardinals.
The Blue Raiders fell in both double matches against the Cardinals, but split the singles matches to close out the day.
Freshmen Lucas Olivier and Mattia Bernardi matched up against Matthew Fung and Alex Wesbrooks, falling 6-2 in the first doubles contest of th day. Freshmen Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and John Chin battled tough with Louisville's Kyle Tang and David Mizrahi but fell 6-4 to close out the doubles matchups between the two teams.
In singles, the Blue Raiders secured two wins from Brostrom Poulsen and Bernardi, while Olivier and Chin fell in their matches. Brostrom Poulsen had a dominant performance today against Mizrahi claiming the two-set victory (6-3, 6-0) including a shutout in the second set. Bernardi also had a great performance in his singles match against Louisville's Tang taking a two-set victory (6-2, 6-4). Chin battled the Cardinals' Alex Wesbrook to a tiebreaking first set, before falling 7-5 in the tie break to fall behind a set, but Chin battled back to claim a shutout in the second set but couldn't keep the momentum going in the decisive third set as he fell in the three-set battle (6-7(5), 6-0, 1-6). Olivier rounded out the Blue Raiders lineup, dropping a two-set contest to Louisville's Fung (2-6, 0-6).
