Blue Raiders pick up six wins at day two of the ITA Regional Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — At day two of the ITA Regional Championships, the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders tallied six victories on Friday.
MTSU split a pair of doubles matches to start the day.
Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and Francisco Rocha started the day off with an 8-1 victory over Kentucky's Tate Sandman and Charlelie Cosnet. The duo of Brostrom Poulsen and Rocha will advance to the round of 16 in doubles.
In the first round of singles on Friday, the Blue Raiders gained three wins.
Rocha started off the singles for the day with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Mitchell Deames (Vanderbilt). Ondrej Horak earned the second singles win for MTSU with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Butler's Nicolas Arts. Pavel Motl took down Connor Bruce of Dayton 6-2, 6-2 to secure the third singles win for the Blue Raiders.
In the second round of singles on Friday, MTSU tallied two more victories.
Rocha won his singles match 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 over Belmont's Marko Ilic. Motl defeated Sam Landau (Indiana) 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Rocha and Motl will move onto the round of 16 in singles.

"Competition gets tougher and tougher ever day. Today, we had some close battles. Our seniors Pavel and Francisco both had slow starts in their singles, but they both adjusted their strategy and managed to come back to win their match. It's always good when guys find a way to win matches even when they don't play their best tennis.
