Lady Raiders Hosting Wake Forest for WNIT Round of 32

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Lady Raiders are back in the Glass House on Monday for the round of 32 matchup with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at 6:30 p.m.
Last Time Out – March 17 vs. Wofford – (W, 86-56) RECAP
Middle Tennessee dominated in all facets of the game to open the WNIT, stifling Wofford to just 32 percent shooting on the night while hitting 49 percent of their shots to storm past the Terriers 86-56.
The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 15-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back, with six MT players finishing the night shooting at least 50 percent from the field. The Terriers let up 38 points in the paint to MT, never really recovering from six first quarter turnovers that put them behind early.
Dor Saar led the Lady Raiders with 16 points. The graduate student guard went 4-for-6 beyond the arc, while also adding five rebounds and four assists with no turnovers. Jalynn Gregory was huge early for MT, hitting four of her five made 3-pointers before halftime in route to 15 points
Anastasiia Boldyreva and Kseniya Malashka were each big contributors in the post, each adding 15 points to the Lady Raiders' total on the night. Boldyreva made her first four shots from the field, shooting 6-for-9 from the floor in just 17 minutes, while Malashka added a three pointer to her five buckets in the paint.
Courtney Whitson finished one rebound off a double-double, scoring 11 points and leading MT with nine rebounds. The junior forward also tied for the team lead in assists with Saar and Blakely, dishing out four dimes on the evening.

Previewing the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-14, 16-16)
The Demon Deacons opened up WNIT play with a 71-59 win over the Akron Zips on Thursday night. Wake Forest is a top-50 team in rebounds in the nation, but rank near the middle to bottom in all other major stats in the nation.
The Demon Deacons are led by sophomore Jewel Spear who leads the team with 18.3 points per game on a .395 clip from the field. Spear also averages 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Spear currently ranks inside of the top 30 nationally in total points, points per game, field goals made, field goal attempts, three point attempts and three pointers made.
The Blue Raiders and Demon Deacons have met once before on March 19, 2017. The Rick Insell led squad won 73-66 in a well contested game.
