Brett Coker got the Blue Raiders (4-8) off to a good start in the first inning by hitting his third home run of the season on a two-run shot to left.
Mason Speirs drove in the third MT run of the day with an RBI single in the third to make it 3-0, but South Alabama (7-2) scored seven runs in the third and controlled the game the rest of the way through.
JT Mabry finished with his third multi-hit game of the season and the 20th of his career after going 2-for-4.
Middle Tennessee and South Alabama each used six different pitchers in the game.
