MTSU welcomes UTEP on Friday and Saturday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team hosts UTEP at Alumni Memorial Gym on Friday, October 27 at 6 p.m. CT and Saturday, October 28 at 2 p.m. CT. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ and have live stats to follow along.
The Blue Raiders are back at home after their bye week. In the last match, MTSU swept UNC Asheville to earn their sixth straight win.
The Blue Raiders are second in conference in hitting percentage with a .296 hitting percentage, points per set with 17.42, assists per set earning 12.5, kills per set averaging 13.51 and aces per set with 1.94 per set.
Taylor Eisert has totaled 887 assists this season and is first in conference in assists per set earning 11.1 per set. Redshirt senior Kayla Henley leads the team in kills with 256 tallying 3.2 per set. Henley is third in CUSA in service aces per set earning 0.5 per set. Jansen has been incredible on both sides of the ball this season earning 204 kills and 201 digs. Sophomore Adri Rhoda is four aces away from the No. 100 in her career. Graduate student Kaylee Oscarson has 78 total blocks averaging 1.0 block per set.
Scouting UTEP Miners
UTEP is 17-6 and 9-3 in Conference USA so far this season. In the last match, the Miners swept LA Tech 3-0. UTEP returns 10 players from last year's squad. The Miners have added three transfers and six freshmen. UTEP leads CUSA in total blocks tallying 234.
On offense, Junior Danika Washington is first in CUSA in hitting percentage hitting at a .440 clip. Redshirt sophomore Torrance Lovesee has recorded 198 kills earning 2.3 per set.
On defense, sophomore Kaya Weaver and Washington are second and third in conference in blocks per set averaging 1.24 and 1.16 respectively. Weaver has totaled 104 blocks and Washington has tallied 88 blocks.
The Blue Raiders will be seeking their first against UTEP. The Miners lead the series 10-0 with UTEP winning the last match 3-0 last season.

- Eisert broke the program record for career assists in the current 25-point era. The Louisville, Ky. native is the fourth Blue Raider all-time to reach 3,000 career assists. This season, she is a four-time CUSA Setter of the Week. Eisert was tabbed Tennessee Sports Writers Association Volleyball Player of the Week on 9/12. She leads conference in assists per set with 11.1.
