Blue Raiders fight to defeat FIU in five on Wednesday

MIAMI, Fla. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team took on FIU on Wednesday, October 5. The Blue Raiders topped FIU in five to hand the Panthers their first loss in conference play.
The Blue Raiders (11-6, 3-3 CUSA) defeated the FIU Panthers (9-10, 5-1 USA) with set scores of 25-13, 21-25, 25-27, 26-24 and 15-8. MTSU finished the match with a hitting percentage of .361.
Redshirt senior Kayla Henley had 17 kills on a .419 hitting clip. Henley tallied nine digs and four blocks. Junior Laure Jansen earned her second straight double-double with 17 kills on a hitting percentage of .389 and 11 digs. Senior Taylor Eisert totaled 61 assists, three kills and two blocks. Sophomore Adri Rhoda added 15 kills and six aces. Redshirt Dasia Smith recorded 12 kills on a .400 hitting clip and five blocks. Graduate student Kaylee Oscarson had 11 kills on a hitting percentage of .391 and added four blocks.
