MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee men's tennis program encourages kids in 5th through 8th grade to sign up for our 2024 Ball Kid Program.
Associate Head Coach Andrea Caligiana is in charge of the program and this is a great opportunity to be a part of the team for this upcoming spring season.
Middle Tennessee men's tennis has won four-straight Conference USA Championships. Last season, the Blue Raiders won the first round at the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row and finished the season ranked No. 23 in the nation. The team is returning three members of last seasons' squad, while welcoming three freshmen and four transfers from six different countries (Canada, France, Slovakia, Germany, Spain and Greece).
Ball kids must be in 5th through 8th grade. There are 12 spots per match, the first 12 to sign up will get the spot. We ask the child and parents stay the duration of the match, if you need to leave early then notify us before leaving. Ball kids are encouraged to arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to the starting time of the match. All matches in January and February will be held indoors at the Adams Tennis Complex. All matches in March and April will be held outdoors at the new outdoor facility on campus (weather permitting).
Alongside being a vital piece of the tennis operation, the Ball Kid Program offers additional benefits such as:
- Training sessions held at Adams Tennis Complex with the coaching staff and players. (January, TBD)
- A specialized Middle Tennessee State Ball Kid t-shirt for every program participant.
- Free admission for the participant and their families for the duration of the season.
- Interact with the coaching staff and players.
- Get to know our players, learn their cultures and experiences from across the globe.
- Assisting in tennis operations that are vital for the flow of our matches.
We are hosting 15 teams this season 17 including the CUSA Tournament at the end of the season. MTSU will welcome teams including Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Louisville, Oklahoma, Memphis and Vanderbilt.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to Coach Caligiana at andrea.caligiana@mtsu.edu or shoot him a text at 316-253-4932.
