Men’s tennis welcomes Rice on Friday, travels to Virginia Tech on Sunday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — No. 21-ranked Middle Tennessee men's tennis will look to continue their home unbeaten streak against conference foe Rice on Friday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. CT.
Two days later, the Blue Raiders will be on the road against Virginia Tech on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. CT.
MTSU is coming off an action-packed weekend at the ATC. On Friday, the Blue Raiders blanked USF 7-0 to start the weekend off strong. In Sunday's doubleheader, MTSU defeated Princeton 5-2. In the second match of the day, the Blue Raiders blanked Alabama A&M for their second blank of the weekend.
Pavel Motl went 6-0 over the weekend in both singles and doubles. Motl is the reigning Conference USA Athlete of the Week. Freshman Ondrej Horak continued his great play in singles and extended his singles record to 7-0.
As a team, MTSU is 32-12 in singles and 13-7 in doubles.
The newest Intercollegiate Tennis Association individual ranking were released on Wednesday, Feb. 8. In doubles, Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and Francisco Rocha were tabbed the No. 23 doubles pairing. In singles, Stijn Slump was ranked at No. 80, Brostrom Poulsen came in at No. 91 and Rocha at No. 122.
