Blue Raiders to play five at The Spring Games

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After posting the program's best start through 14 games (11-3), Middle Tennessee softball will be in Madeira Beach, Florida to play five neutral site games this weekend.
In the first day of action on Friday the 3rd the Blue Raiders will play two games, taking on Yale at 9 AM CT and Costal Carolina at 2 PM CT. On Saturday, they will have two more games back-to-back against Georgetown and Long Island with the first game starting at 9 AM CT. Closing out the competition on Sunday, MTSU will play just one game at 8 AM CT against Albany.

Series History
The Blue Raiders have faced Yale just once all-time where they lead 1-0. MTSU and Costal Carolina haven't matched up since 2013, but the two teams go back all the way to their first matchup in 1995. The all-time series record is owned by the Blue Raiders, 7-4, including a 6-1 neutral site record. The all-time series with Georgetown is tied 1-1. MTSU looks to even the series with LIU that the Blackbirds currently lead 1-0, while the Blue Raiders lead the all-time series with Albany, 1-0.
Scouting the Competition
Yale is just below .500 on the year so far at 2-3 and is batting .198 as a team. The Bulldogs have scored 12 total runs in five games to this point and have allowed 19 runs with a team fielding percentage of .945.
Costal Carolina is 13-2 this season and hitting .358 as a team with 102 runs scored. The Chanticleers' pitching staff has an ERA of 2.00 and has only allowed 35 runs up to this point.
Georgetown stands at just 2-10 so far this season with a .217 batting average and 36 runs scored as a team. The Hoyas have an ERA of 4.15 and team fielding percentage of .942.
LIU has a record of 6-9 this season with all of their wins being at neutral site games. The Sharks will start this weekend's competition by taking on Albany on Friday.
UAlbany is off to a 1-4 start to their season. The Great Danes have scored a total of 11 runs up to this point while batting .254 as a team. The pitching staff for UAlbany gives up around 7 runs per game with only one pitcher above 10 innings pitched.
Last Time out: Georgia Southern Tournament
The Blue Raiders went 4-0 on the weekend and won by run rule three out of the four games. Mealer hit .700 over the weekend with two doubles, a triple, and a home run.
