PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Middle Tennessee women's golf finished the second round of the Conference USA Championship in seventh place Friday at 612 (+36). Taylor Edlin is tied for fifth individually and leads the Blue Raiders at 145 (+1).
After weather delays caused the first round to be suspended due to darkness on Thursday, forecasted thunderstorms held off long enough for all nine teams to finish the second round Friday.
Edlin notched three birdies while making par on 12 holes on her way to a 72 (E). She sits three strokes off the individual lead heading into the final round.
Abbie Lee took six strokes off her first round score, carding a 77 (+5) in the second, entering the final round tied for 32nd at 160 (+16). Her 13 pars led the Blue Raiders in the second round.
Catherine Caudill carded three birdies in the second round on her way to a 79 (+7). She sits in a tie for 24th at 156 (+12).
Molly Bebelaar is also tied for 32nd at 160 (+16) after a round of 81 (+9) on Friday.
Lanie Campbell rounds out the lineup in 35th at 161 (+17).
Coach's Comments: Chris Adams
"Stumbled in the middle of the round again today. Even though those are some of the hardest holes, we have to do better.
I'm proud of Taylor the way she hung in there today and moved up the leaderboard. One more day to go out and make the most of it and move up the leaderboard. We are within striking distance to do so!"
