Home-and-Home Series Set for this Week Against Lipscomb

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After seven straight matchups on the road, Middle Tennessee Baseball will play seven of its next nine games at home, with the remaining two in Nashville.
The Blue Raiders will commence this string of local games this week, with a two-game home-and-home midweek series against Lipscomb.
MTSU will host the Bison on Tuesday night, with a 6:00 p.m. first pitch at Reese Smith Jr. Field. The teams will turn around and play the same time Wednesday night at Lipscomb's Dugan Field in Nashville.
Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. WGNS 101.9 FM / 1450 AM (Murfreesboro), WGNS 100.5 FM (Smyrna), GoBlueRaiders.com and the Varsity Network App will have the radio broadcast.
All-Time Against Lipscomb
Lipscomb narrowly leads the all-time series between the teams, 32-28. The Blue Raiders won the last matchup against the Bison 7-0, behind homers from Gabe Jennings and Jackson Galloway. RHP Jack Julian started and tossed five shutout innings, striking out four and earning the win in Nashville.
Probable Starting Pitchers
RHP Jack Julian is scheduled to start on the mound Tuesday. Wednesday's starting pitcher remains TBD.
Quick Hitters
SS Brett Coker had a 7-12 series for the Blue Raiders at UTSA this past weekend. Raising his AVG to a team-high .384, the middle infielder leads Conference USA in hits (29) across conference games only, and is the fourth-leading hitter (.433) in C-USA play.
The Blue Raiders have won eight games in a row, and 10 of their past 11 when playing either in the States of Tennessee and nearby Kentucky.
Scouting the Bison
Lipscomb has taken all five of its series in Atlantic Sun Conference play, with a sweep over North Alabama to show for. The Bison sit tied for first in the league with an 11-4 record, while currently being 18-17 overall.
The Bison boast three .300+ hitters and three players with an OPS north of 1.000. This includes redshirt sophomore catcher Austin Kelly, who leads the team in both categories, maintains a .324/.375/.698 slash line and has a team-high 15 home runs.
