#28 Blue Raiders wins 6-1 over #30 VCU on Sunday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — No. 28-ranked Middle Tennessee men's tennis defeated No. 30 VCU 6-1 on Sunday, April 2 at the Adams Tennis Complex.
HEAD COACH JIMMY BORENDAME
"It was a good 6-1 win over VCU today. VCU is a very loud and feisty team. It showed up in the doubles. The doubles point was real solid. I was excited to see Marcel get back in the doubles and play like he did. It was a beautiful day out. We got a good crowd. Thanks to all the people who came out and supported. To win five out of six singles against No. 30 VCU was solid in our first outside match at ATC. I am excited. We have Easter weekend off coming up. We will put some more work in and get ready for the home stretch for the last couple of matches."
This would be MTSU's fourth ranked win of the season.
The Blue Raiders claimed the doubles point. Ondrej Horak and Marcel Kamrowski picked up a 6-4 win on court No. 3. On court No. 2, Pavel Motl and Stijn Slump secured the doubles point winning 7-5.
In singles, the Rams took a point on court No. 4. Motl gave MTSU a 2-1 tallying a 6-3, 6-3 victory on court No. 6. On court No. 3, No. 119 Oskar Brostrom Poulsen picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win to extend the Blue Raiders to 3-1. No. 74 Slump clinches the win for MTSU by defeating No. 67 Charles Bertimon 6-4, 6-3 on court No. 1. Francisco Rocha defeated No. 93 Matisse Bobichon 7-5, 6-3. Kamrowski capped off the day with a 4-6, 7-6 (6), 10-6.

"First outdoor match at the ATC this year. The crowd was unbelievable and it was a fun match. It feels well to beat VCU after a tough match our freshman year. I played really well. It was a great time. Thanks to the fans and thanks to everyone helping us."
