MTSU goes two-for-two against George Mason and Seattle on Friday

FAIRFAX, Va. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team began play at the Patriot Invite with a double-header against George Mason and Seattle on Friday. The Blue Raiders defeated George Mason in five and Seattle in three.
In the first match, the Blue Raiders (6-3, 0-0 CUSA) topped the George Mason Patriots (4-6, 0-0 A-10) with set scores of 12-25, 25-16, 28-26, 21-25 and 15-12. The Patriots took set one. MTSU took counrol in set two to even the score. In the third set, the Blue Raiders were down 21-24 and fought back to win 28-26. The Patriots won the fourth set. MTSU would close it out winning the final set.
Redshirt senior Kayla Henley led the team in kills with 18 on a .455 hitting percentage and two service aces. Redshirt senior Dasia Smith recorded 11 kills on 17 and a .647 hitting percentage. Graduate student Kaylee Oscarson added 13 kills on 13 and a .538 hitting percentage. Senior Taylor Eisert tallied 53 assists and moved into fifth all-time for career assists.

Henley lead the team in kills with 10 on a .444 hitting percentage and added two service aces. Eisert finished the match with 31 assists. Smith earned a hitting percentage of .455 and had five aces.
