FGCU Invitational comes to an end on Saturday

The final game for the Blue Raiders on Sunday against Akron has been canceled due to the weather in Fort Myers.
Game 1 – MTSU 11, Delaware 14
Delaware jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the top of the first including a two-run homerun. MTSU answered back in the bottom half after a RBI single from Amaya Harris that scored Savannah Behabetz who tripled. Harris also came around to score on a wild pitch to cut Delaware's lead in half.
The Blue Raiders added another run in the second inning on a RBI single from Shelby Echols. Her fourth of the season to lead the team.
The Hens added three more runs in the third inning on a bases loaded walk, a single and a sacrifice fly to right field to increase the lead 7-3.
Ava Tepe doubled in the fourth allowing Echols to pick up her second RBI of the game and cut the lead to 7-4.
Delaware added seven more runs in the seventh making the lead 14-4.
The Blue Raiders answered with six runs in the seventh inning comeback effort but would eventually come up short losing 14-10.
Jesyne Espinal started in the circle allowing three earned runs. Claire Woods took over in the first going the distance with 12 hits and ten earned runs.
Game 2 – MTSU 2, FGCU 3
Florida Gulf Coast scored a run in both the first and second innings to take a two-run lead early in the game. MTSU was able to answer with a run to start the third inning on a RBI single from Harris.
The next two innings were scoreless for both teams keeping the score locked at 2-1 headed into the sixth in favor of the Eagles.
Ashlee Jacoway's single in the sixth led to the tying run when Shelby Sargent drove her in with a RBI double to right center. FGCU threatened in the bottom half of the sixth getting the bases loaded with one out. Kamryn Carcich was able to get out of the inning stranding three Eagle's runner on.
After three hits in the bottom of the seventh, FGCU scored the winning run to end the game 3-2.
Carcich threw a complete game in her fourth start of the season.
