Blue Raiders tally a 4-2 win over SEMO on Friday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis hosted Southeast Missouri on Friday, Feb. 9 at the Adams Tennis Complex. MTSU earned a 4-2 victory against the Red Hawks.
The Red Hawks took the doubles point. The Blue Raiders fell behind early but would fall short on courts No. 2 and No. 1. On court No. 3, Lilly-Sophie Schmidt and Alessia Truden fought back to tie the score at 5-5 but finished unfinished.
To begin singles play, Truden earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Bajorek on court No. 5. Sana Garakani won 6-4, 6-3 on court No. 1 against Hlacikova. On court No. 4, Ilaria Sposetti defeated Lai 6-4, 6-0 to extend the MTSU lead to 3-1. SEMO got a point on court No. 2. To clinch the match, Eloise Swarbrick battled for a 7-6 (3), 6-3 victory over Valeeva on court No. 6.

"We have always worked a lot on the doubles and the aggressive mentality. If it doesn't work, we have to find a way to win. There is a lot of good singles players on the team. They find ways to win. We have different types of players which makes it fun to watch. We just got to bounce back and keep finding ways to get better to get the doubles point."
