Mandou Berranger tabbed Conference USA Athlete of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Igor Mandou Berranger earned Conference USA Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. Mandou Berranger became the seventh Blue Raider to be named CUSA Athlete of the Week this spring.
"Igor made some huge strides both on and off the court," said MTSU Head Coach Jimmy Borendame. "He is just starting to show everyone what he can do. His development is only just beginning and we are proud of him."
Freshman Igor Mandou Berranger went 4-0 to help No. 39 Middle Tennessee go 3-0 last week. In the first match against USF, Mandou Berranger and Shu Matsuoka earned a 6-3 win against Ben Hudson and Bruno Oliveira.
Mandou Berranger and Matsuoka secured the doubles point against No. 29 Louisville 6-3 over Miguel Avendano and Kosuke Nakanishi. The Blue Raiders would go on to defeat No. 29 Louisville to pick up their third ranked win and seventh Power-5 win of the season.
The Eaubonne, France capped off the week with two wins against Tennessee Tech not losing a single game in doubles or singles. Mandou Berranger and Matsuoka tallied their third doubles win of the week winning 6-0 over Lukas Krause and Adam Ward. In singles against Tech, the freshman swept Adam Ward 6-0, 6-0.
